City Transit Service

• Children 12 and under can ride Barrie Transit for free, and Older Adults 65+ can ride free on Tuesdays and Thursdays
• Licence 2 Ride pass is offered to youth aged 12-16 and provides the chance to ride for free on Barrie Transit & play for free at the City's three main recreation centres

Beginning in summer 2025, two electric buses will service Barrie Transit routes. The buses are battery-electric, zero-emission, made by a Canadian company, and the most advanced models on the market. Visit barrie.ca/ElectrifyingTransit to learn more.

• Transit Services operate from approximately 5:30 am-12:30 am Mon-Sat, Sun service remains hourly from approximately 9 am-11 pm
• Transit Terminal Hours: Mon-Sat 7 am-10 pm, Sun 9 am-10 pm
• Barrie Transit does not operate on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
• Special service is provided on Canada Day, Civic Holidays, Boxing Day and Labour Day, service schedules vary, watch for special service postings on Transit Service Notices

• All passes and ride cards can be purchased at Service Barrie (City Hall, 1st floor), any of the City's three recreation centres or at the Downtown Bus Terminal (24 Maple Ave)
• fares can be purchased through the HotSpot app, available for download from Google Play and App Store, or the HotSpot website

• Seniors - $3
• Barrie Transit connecting to/from GO train only with valid presto card/ticket - FREE
• Children 12 years of age & under - FREE
• Seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays - FREE
• Visually Impaired (valid CNIB card required) - FREE

• Individual Day Pass: Valid and for purchase on the day of travel at the terminal and on Conventional buses - $8.50/day
• Family Day Pass: Group of 4 or less, max 2 Adults/Seniors/Students. Valid and for purchase on the day of travel at the terminal and on Conventional buses - $10/day
• Adult Monthly Pass Ages 19- 64 - $91/month
• Student Monthly Pass Ages 13+ - $69.75/month
• Senior Monthly Pass Ages 65+ - $53/month
