Description (Service)

Provides information, reports, analysis and guidance to City Council, the Public and City Departments regarding financial operations of the City

  • prepares, issues and collects property tax bills for all properties within the City of Barrie
  • responsible for Water and Wastewater billing
  • processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • handles corporate purchasing requirements
  • prepares City's annual financial statements
  • prepares City's operating and capital budgets
  • updates and administers the Development Charges Act
  • handles all consolidated financial reporting requirements for the City and related boards
  • responsible for investing and borrowing of funds
  • Issue debentures relating to capital projects
