Breast screening for early detection of breast cancer in Women, Two-Spirit, trans and nonbinary people ages 40 to 74.

Screening includes mammography (x-rays of breast tissue). Screening results are sent to both the patient and their doctor.

Patients who receive normal results are automatically recalled for their next screening appointment through a reminder letter from Cancer Care Ontario.

Patients who receive abnormal results are referred to their doctor for further investigation, or are referred directly for additional tests on Wednesdays at the Walkerton Site.

Works in conjunction with Breast Assessment Program to serve patients whom require a referral.

The OBSP is administered by Cancer Care Ontario through its regional cancer centres.

• have no new breast cancer symptoms
• have no personal history of breast cancer
• have not had a mastectomy
• have not had a screening mammogram within the last 11 months
• If transfeminine, have used feminizing hormones for at least five years in a row
