Description (Service)

COVID-19 Response
Due to COVID-19, masks are continued to be strongly recommended.

Regular Service
Homecare Services include:

Supports for older adults and adults with disabilities to help people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible
Culturally appropriate services
Needs assessments conducted by community nurses
Lighthouse keeping and meal preparation
Personal Care
Loan cupboard provides community members with short term loan of homecare equipment and supplies as needed, call for details
Personal alarm system (Lifeline)

Community support services include:

Congregate dining and hot meal lunch program offered at various times each month, contact for dates
escorted transportation for grocery shopping offered twice monthly
caregiver support, information, education and training provided in group or individual sessions

Hours	Nurses available: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm Telephone and in-person reception services: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon and 1 pm-4:30 pm Starting May 26, 2023 until last Fri before Labour day, the health centre hours on Fri are 8:30 am-12:30 pm
Areas Served	Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation
Eligibility	Most programs available to all Chippewas of Nawash band members. Loan cupboard is for Chippewas of Nawash community members.
Application	Call or email to request an initial assessment appointment or for information. For meals, contact Megan Waddilove, Community Support Service Coordinator at ext 224 for dates and time and to register.
