When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, rest areas are available to residents for relief from extreme weather conditions. These can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres during regular business hours. Other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could also be used.

In Kincardine, the following libraries may be accessed in extreme weather conditions.

  • Kincardine Library - 727 Queen St, Kincardine, 519-396-3289 - Mon 10 am-4 pm, Tue-Wed 10 am-8 pm, Thu-Fri 10 am-5 pm, Sat 10 am-3 pm, Sun 1 pm-4 pm
  • Tiverton Library - 56 King St, Tiverton, 519-368-5655 - Mon,Tue,Thu 2 pm-7 pm, Fri, Sat 10 am-3 pm

The following municipal facility is available to the public during regular business hours.

  • Davidson Centre - 601 Durham St, Kincardine - 519-396-3491 - Mon-Sun 6 am-10 pm - please call ahead to confirm availability
