Description (Service) Program assists individuals to complete their income tax and benefit return. The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) volunteers prepare and E File returns if the individual meets the criteria. Able to file previous years 2016 - 2019. Any prior years, when completed, must be submitted to Canada Revenue Agency using Canada Post.

Hours By appointment only.
Sat 10 am-2 pm, until the end of April (starting Feb 25, 2023)
Thu 3:30 pm-7 pm, until the end of April (starting Mar 2, 2023)

May do returns after these dates, call the library to arrange.
Areas Served Clearview (Simcoe County) ; Wasaga Beach
Eligibility Suggested maximum income levels should serve as a guideline only.
  • Single Up to $35,000
  • Couple Up to $45,000
  • One adult with child Up to $40,000
  • $2500 for additional dependent

Volunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as:
  • returns for deceased persons
  • individuals who file for bankruptcy
  • self-employed individuals
  • individuals who report capital gains or losses
  • individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and

Eligible taxpayers normally served by the CVITP include:
  • Indigenous peoples
  • Low-income individuals and social assistance recipients
  • Newcomers to Canada
  • Seniors
  • Students
