Description

Description (Service) Free clinic for individuals unable to complete their income tax and benefit return themselves and are unable to pay for assistance.

Volunteer will assist with the application to the RDSP(Registered Disability Savings Plan).

Eligibility For members of Breaking Down Barriers

These suggested maximum income levels should serve as a guideline only:
  • Single individual - up to $35,000
  • Two-person family - up to $45,000 (combined income of a couple, or one adult with one child under 18)
  • + add $2,500 for each additional dependent child in the family
Interest income limited to under $1,000

Volunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as:
  • returns
  • for deceased persons
  • individuals who file for bankruptcy
  • self-employed individuals
  • individuals who report capital gains or losses
  • individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and expenses

Fees Membership - $5 per year or $10 for three years. No fee for tax clinic for members.
