The Ganaraska Hiking Trail is 500 kilometres in length. It begins in Port Hope starting along the Ganaraska River and ends at the cairn in Glen Huron where it then connects to the Bruce Trail.

The Mad River trail begins at the 6th concession Utopia and County Road 90 and weaves its way through the communities of Angus, Brentwood, New Lowell, Glencairn, Avening, Creemore and then continues to the cairn in Glen Huron. This 50 kilometre segment of the trail is maintained by volunteers of the Ganaraska Mad River Hiking Club.

The club is active year round enjoying organized hikes/snowshoeing as well as biking and kayaking.
