Description (Service)

Wasaga Beach Transit is available seven days a week and operates on two fixed routes on a 60-90 minute cycle with overlapping coverage in some areas.

However please note that Route 1 operates as on-demand transit services within a designated zone and during set blocks of time.

Additionally there is a bus transfer system, which allows passengers to transfer between routes without paying an additional fare.


On-Demand Transit (ODT) Services

As on-demand transit services was implemented for Route 1 but is only available along the easterly portion of the Town, optimizing the bus service of Route 1, east of Walmart. Route 1 in the ODT coverage area will continue to use the existing bus stops along River Road East, as well as other new virtual bus stops.

Transfers are good for approximately 45 minutes and can only be used to transfer from one bus route to another.

Each bus:

  • is accessible with two wheelchair spots
  • has 18 seats
  • has two bike racks

Inter-town Connections (Operated by)

  • Clearview Transit - Between Wasaga Beach and Stayner (Route 1), for further details on routes and schedules, click here.
  • Simcoe County LINX - Between Wasaga Beach and Barrie (Route 2). Service runs from the Allandale Waterfront Station in Barrie and the Superstore on 45th St in Wasaga Beach with fully accessible buses. Transfers between the LINX and the local transit systems are not available. For details on routes and schedules click here
  • Simcoe County LINX - Between Wasaga Beach and Collingwood (Route 4). Service runs from the Collingwood bus terminal at 100 Pine street to the Superstore on 45th St on a half hour continuous loop. Collingwood-Wasaga Beach link is fully accessible and fares are $2. Transfers between the link and the local transit systems are not available. For details on routes and schedules click here

Application Ticket purchase required, available on the bus. Monthly passes (Smart Cards), for Wasaga Beach Transit can be purchased at Municipal Office, the RecPlex and the Wasaga Beach Public Library. Re-loaded at these locations also.

Fees Service ; Transit passes are issued using a Smart Card which contains an embedded chip that is recognizable to an electronic reader on the bus, and allows customers to pay their fare with a tap of the card

Single ride fares - exact change required:
  • Adults - $2
  • Children, Students and Seniors - $1.50
  • Under 5 Years of age - free
  • Visually Impaired (CNIB card required) - free


Monthly bus passes:
  • Adult - $40 per month, separate passes required for Simcoe County LINX Transit and Clearview Transit
  • Senior/Youth - $30 per month
