Description

Description (Service) Township of Severn is governed by the Mayor and Council, along with a variety of committees and boards. Review our municipal plans, reports and studies to learn how we're planning for the future.
We provide the following services:
  • Administration
    Provides an essential link to the public and supports the Mayor, Council, boards, and committees by providing research and professional advice, implementing Council's decisions, and maintaining the operations of the Township. Send an email to the Administration department.
  • Finance
    Prepares the annual budget and asset management plan, budget administration, tax rate calculations, water and wastewater rate calculations, management of municipal funds, coordination of the year-end audit, financial statement preparation and reporting, payroll and benefits administration, and accounts payable and purchasing. Send an email to the Finance department.
  • Fire and Emergency Services
    Provides a range of fire and emergency services to protect life, property, and the environment. This is achieved through public education, prevention, enforcement, fire suppression, rescue, life support services, investigation and training. Send an email to the Fire and Emergency Services department.
  • Planning and Development
    Responsible for the overall management of growth and physical development of the Township through the land use planning and development process, permit review, issuance, and inspection, and by establishing goals and objectives for future growth and development. Send an email to the Planning and Development department.
  • Public Works
    Responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation of Severn's infrastructure, roads, facilities, sports fields, water treatment and distribution systems, and wastewater treatment and collection systems. Email the Public Works department.
  • Recreation, Parks, and Facilities
    Responsible for the management of facilities and sportsfields, and provides recreation, arts, and culture programming. Email the Recreation, Parks, and Facilities department.
