Description

Description (Service) Assists those who are involved with the legal system and are dealing with a mental health, addiction or dual diagnosis. Works as an advocate between the crown and defence attorneys.

Services can include:
  • assistance inside the court room
  • referrals to community resources
  • recommendations to the crown and defence councils
  • helping consumers navigate the legal system
  • assisting consumers to interpret legal documents
Also includes Youth Mental Health Court Services for consumers ages 12-17 years who are involved with the legal system and have mental health issues and/or addictions issues. Will assist with:
  • assistance inside the court room
  • referrals to community resources
  • work with probation managers
  • will advocate for the consumer
