Authority: 
The Admin Coordinator has the authority to complete all admin tasks as assigned under responsibilities. The Admin Coordinator answers to the Barrie Good Food Box Steering committee.  
Responsibilities: 
• Maintain an ordering and pick-up process for purchasers Work with the Barrie Good Food Box Steering Committee to ensure consistent policies, processes and strategies across volunteer and member activities. 
• Maintain website, email, phone, social media and Google Drive 
• Check order sites to ensure accurate GFB schedules, flyers and order forms. Replace as needed. 
• Pick up cash orders from order sites on the Thursday morning before the pack 
• Download online orders from website and compile order list 
• Order produce from supplier 
• Email box contents list and order list to Pack Day lead. Double check order list for inputting errors before sending to Pack Day Leader 
• Send email reminder to purchasers on the Monday before the pack 
• Email newsletter to purchasers on pack day (or arrange to have it printed for pack day) 
• Send out quality survey on the Monday after the pack 
• Contact the BGFB Steering Committee if you are unable to complete tasks due to unforeseen circumstances  
• Ensure the confidentiality to the best of her/his ability of all information and the rights of privacy of all purchasers, volunteers and steering committee members

Furry Friends Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to providing shelter and love to abandoned, lost or rescued cats and kittens in the Barrie Community. We provide care to almost 1,000 animals and do not euthanize healthy animals for any reason. We are a registered charity funded by generous donors and supporters and operated completely by volunteers. 
 
We are looking for dependable adult animal-lovers (over 18 years of age...younger volunteers must be with a fellow volunteer who is 18+ for the entire shift) to help us match cats and kittens with people who can give them a permanent, loving home. Two weeks per month we adopt cats and kittens out of the PetSmart Adoption Centre (33 Mapleview Drive East, Barrie). 
 
There are three main tasks:  
1. Keep the kitties clean and comfortable - top up food and water, clean cages (litter boxes too!) and pet and play with them! 
2. Interact with the public and potential adopters in a retail environment, giving great customer service.  
3. Assess suitable adopters, complete adoption paperwork and process payments.

1. In-Clinic Role – In this role, our volunteers oversee donor safety and satisfaction after they’ve made their donation. The volunteers socialize with donors, provide juice and cookies, and watch for adverse reactions. 
2. In-Community Role – In this role, our volunteers go out into their communities to inform the public about the need for blood. They focus on recruiting new and lapsed donors, booking appointments into upcoming clinics, and giving out information to raise awareness about blood donation. In-Community volunteers with specialized training can be ABO Typers. Typers go to special events where we test individuals’ blood types.

This is a wonderful hands-on opportunity to learn about our native wild animals. Procyon Wildlife Rehab counts on volunteer animal caregivers to carry out the essential duties that allow orphaned and injured animals to return to the wild. If you are able to commit 4 or 5 hours once a week, you will find this very rewarding! The duties of this ongoing volunteer position involve preparing food for, and feeding animals of all ages, cleaning cages, observing animal behaviour and condition, and record keeping. The position also involves housekeeping such as laundry, washing dishes, cleaning counters, floors, and equipment, and light yard work. The requirements for this position are: minimum 18 years of age; access to email, ability to travel to Procyon’s rehab centre near Beeton, Ontario, and ability to work your designated shift every week, holidays included. Time commitment: 5 hours per week, every week from April to October.

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park (WBPP) and Friends of Nancy Island are pleased to announce the return of the Piping Plover; an endangered shorebird who has returned to the shores of WBPP after an extended hiatus. Gearing up for a busy season, we are currently seeking eager volunteers who will join our Piping Plover Guardian Family for the bird’s critical breeding season (June & July).  
 
Responsibilities include: 
• Monitoring the birds while they are nesting and recording important behaviours 
• Monitoring newly hatch Piping Plover chicks and recording important behaviours 
• Sharing updates with the public  
• Showing the public the Piping Plovers through spotting scopes 
• Providing feedback and updates to the Piping Plover Coordinator 
 
You don’t have to be an avid birder to volunteer as training is provided! Training is tentatively scheduled for the end of May.

The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking a Personal Disaster Assistance (PDA) Supervisor for Disaster Management (DM). The PDA Supervisor will be responsible to supervise a team of PDA Responders in addition to filling various on-call shifts on a 24/7 schedule that includes weekends, holidays and evenings. When called on to respond, the PDA Supervisor will be required to provide relief directly to clients in need of assistance. 
 
Job Summary: 
The Personal Disaster Assistance Team is activated to respond and provide assistance for up to the first 72 hours following a disaster. The PDA supervisor will supervise a team of PDA responders at the local level. The PDA Supervisor will provide, as appropriate, direct aid assessment for delivery of ESS services for relief, referral services, and/or recovery assistance, as well as, be responsible for planning and organizing ongoing preparedness activities. They may be asked to deliver services during a large-scale emergency. The PDA Supervisor may be asked to represent Disaster Management on cross-functional working groups. 
 
Working Conditions: 
• Potential for responding in disaster areas, as well as difficult and unstable conditions (environmental, physical, social, etc.) and uncomfortable conditions (noise, odours, smoke, humidity, vulnerable clients). These environments have the potential to affect the overall wellbeing of the responders on site. 
• The incumbent may need to stand for several hours. 
• The incumbent may need to lift up to 20 kg of relief supplies during preparedness activities and during response. 
• Ability to respond during non-traditional hours (i.e. late night or weekends) and long hours of work in a demanding context. 
• Ability to be on-call when scheduled, as required.
