Description (Service) | COVID-19 Update All fire stations are closed to the public * Barrie Fire response times are not impacted * Outdoor burning permits are available for purchase online only via barrie.ca/BurnPermits * Education events and activities, including station tours, are temporarily suspended * Fire Inspections for building permit purposes continue for non-occupied structures only, following public health standards * if an Emergency inspection situation should arise, it would be assessed on a case by case basis by the Fire Chief and would have to follow public health standards * Fire Prevention Officers are available to follow up on violations using photographs and video * they can be reached by phone or email: 705-728-3199 or fire.prevention@barrie.ca Regular Service Main Fire Station (Station 1) is located at 155 Dunlop St W * call office number for information on fire prevention, public education, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, legalizing basement apartments * have information on installing fireplaces * Outdoor Solid Fuel Burning Appliances (O.S.F.B.A.) permits, commonly known as Fire Permits, are available at Fire Station One located at 155 Dunlop St W, Barrie * all fire permits expire on December 31 of each year Substations Station 2, 15 Bell Farm Rd (St Vincent St & Bell Farm Rd) Station 3, 350 Big Bay Point Rd (Big Bay Point Rd & Huronia Rd) Station 4, 250 Ardagh Rd (Ardagh Rd & Ferndale Dr) Station 5, 361 King St ( Mapleview Dr W & Veterans Dr) Fire and Emergency Service does not inspect wood stoves * look for a company that is Wood Energy Technical Training (WETT) certified in the Yellow Pages under Chimney Builders and Repairers Hot Summer Nights campaign held annually for residents * fire safety information and activities for children |
