Description (Service) COVID-19 Response 
  • Transportation services currently being offered are for: 
    • Medical and essential travel 
    • Transportation to COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic with in Simcoe County and Muskoka, excluding Orillia and Huntsville. Call to book an appointment or book online via CT Link Transportation to Vaccine Clinics Program 
      Must have a vaccine appointment booked  
    • Grocery pick up and delivery
     
  • In-person service is available by appointment only and staff are working and available to provide assistance by email or phone

Regular Service 
Non-emergency transportation for those in need, such as older adults and adults with disabilities in the community, who are unable to use public transportation or private means 
  • provides affordable transportation to social gatherings, medical appointments and shopping 
  • Volunteer drivers with their own vehicles, as well as wheelchair accessible vans 
  • Member of the CT Link, Community Transportation Link

The Barrie Office of the Canadian Red Cross coordinates this service for all areas of Simcoe County, except in Orillia

Areas Served Muskoka District - only volunteers in private vehicles in this area ; Simcoe County - except no pick up in Orillia and do not serve south of Hwy 89
Boundaries Dividing line to the south is Hwy 89 for all programs, same as LHIN boundary
Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and up 
 
Older adults and adults with disabilities who cannot access public transportation

  • pre-booking required with 3 days notice in the Barrie area and for all other areas 2 days notice but Red Cross will try to accommodate same day requests but cannot always guarantee it
