Description (Service)

Certified Respiratory Educators may conduct spirometry and provide education regarding:

smoking cessation, basic pathophysiology of Asthma and/or COPD, inhaler technique and tools for monitoring disease (Peak Flow Monitor, Asthma Diary), symptomatic relief strategies, allergies and environment control and other community resources available
helps patients develop individualized action plans and goals to self-manage their chronic lung condition
delivered by a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist with additional certifications in respiratory health and a specialized interest in the management of Asthma and COPD
