Description (Service) | Bruce County Housing Corporation (BCHC) provides affordable housing to families, seniors, couples, single people and people with special needs in a variety of housing forms including townhouses, apartments, single and semi-detached dwellings. Offered on a rent-geared-to-income basis or as market rent units. Selection of applicants from the waiting list for housing is based on the date of application with special priority for assaulted women and children. Also provides supportive housing for frail elderly people and people with physical disabilities. Bruce County Community Housing Registry administers the wait list for housing needs. Also administers the Rent Supplement Program, which provides subsidy for approximately 50 units in privately owned buildings with participating private landlords throughout the County.
