Description (Service) | COVID19 Meals on Wheels continues with rigorous screening. Volunteer drivers deliver meals to clients on a regular schedule, usually at noon hour, and for the supper hour in selected areas. Meals are prepared according to the Canada Food Guide with special diets such as no sugar, no salt, low fat and dental soft accommodated in some areas. Meals on Wheels allows individuals to live at home in their own community with physical and social support. The Frozen Food program provides prepared frozen dinners to nutritionally at risk people. Entrees, soups and desserts are available to meet the individual's tastes and nutritional needs. The program provides increased service options for rural clients especially on weekends and holidays. Sound nutrition is essential for health maintenance and illness recovery. This program helps meet the needs of short-term acute care patients. Frozen meals can be purchased online at http://www.ccckl.ca/services/nutrition/frozen-meals/ or at one of our three Home Support Services office locations of Community Care: 71 Bolton Street, Bobcaygeon; 70 Murray Street, Fenelon Falls; and 34 Cambridge Street South, Lindsay or order by phone for home delivery in the City of Kawartha Lakes. |
