| Clients | You will be volunteering with individuals of all ages who have an intellectual and/or developmental challenge. Some of our players may experience mental health and behavioural challenges. Most of the time you will be volunteering with the Junior Team at the Baltimore arena. |

| Skills/Experience | Communication & Interpersonal Skills - Willingness to work with special needs individuals of all ages. Need to be able to communicate in an easy to understand manner. ; Confidentiality - We ask that you respect the privacy of each individual's uniqueness. ; Creativity - May require inventing creative ways to teach our players. ; Dependability & Trustworthiness - Our players need dependable & trustworthy helpers as our players thrive with structure and consistency. ; Friendly & Outgoing - The Bulldogs pride themselves on being a fun organization promoting team work and camaraderie. com ; Leadership - Able to work independently with direction from head coach. ; Listening Skills - We promote listening to others when they speak. ; Mentoring & Training - The main purpose of this position is to mentor and teach our players about hockey. ; Patience - Patience is an absolute necessity when working with our players. ; Positive / Cheerful Demeanor - The Bulldogs pride themselves on being a fun organization promoting team work and camaraderie. ; Self-Motivated / Work Independently - Able to work independently with direction form head coach. ; Sports & Coaching - All on ice volunteers must be able to skate, but it you cannot skate, we have other off ice volunteer positions available. If you have some hockey knowledge that is a bonus. ; Team Work - The Bulldogs pride themselves on being a fun organization promoting team work and camaraderie. ; Working with Children - You will be volunteering with individuals of all ages who have an intellectual and/or developmental challenge. | Training | Orientation - 4 week trial period. After trial period we would ask that you commit to the full hockey season (October to March). ; Training is provided - Head coach works in collaboration with the volunteers. Required to complete the online "Respect in Sports" course (no cost). ; Working with special needs individuals may not be everyone's calling. Communication is a high priority for our organization and we pride ourselves with an open door policy. If at any time you feel this position may not be the right fit, please reach out to the head coach. |
| Transportation | You will be responsible for making your way to home and away games. If transportation to away games is an issue we will try to find volunteers a ride with other volunteers. |
