Description (Service)

The goal of the Indigenous Languages Revitalization Program is to support the development of the Friendship Centre language hubs and will work toward integrating Indigenous languages within the Friendship Centres and communities through the provision of community-based Indigenous Language Programming.

Service Provides:

  • Introductory Michif courses
  • Annishinaabemowin Courses
  • Drop-ins
  • Strive to provide resources and materials to ensure that participants receive a high-quality of Indigenous language and culture education that meets their needs.
  • Provides access to culture and/or land-based Indigenous Language activities.
  • Requires Friendship Centres to create partnerships and build relationships with external agencies that support Indigenous Language Learning.
