Volunteer Tax Preparers will help people in Grey Bruce to file their taxes. 

Grey Bruce Community Volunteer Income Tax Program provides volunteers in locations all across Grey and Bruce County.  Volunteers will be need to be matched (and affiliated) with a local CVITP community organization.

Volunteers may have different roles as Tax Preparers depending on their level of skill and/or interest.  Volunteer tax preparer may volunteer at in-person or virtual clinics; or file individually online.  In some cases, individuals can work from their homes with a Coordinator who drops off and pickups paperwork for filing.

Benefits Free tax filing can make a big difference in the lives of those with modest incomes by helping them access their benefits and tax credits. This is money they rely on to make rent, pay for childcare or buy food for their families.

They can choose to work from home or at clinics. Therefore the length of time can be short term for 3 months during tax season or year round.
Interaction Level Solitary ; Small Group ; Depending on whether they are interested in volunteering at in-person clinics or individual filing at home.
Accessibility Fully Accessible ; Locations for clinics are all accessible.

Training Orientation ; Training is provided ; Volunteers must register with the Canada Revenue Agency at: 
They enter a postal code and it matches them with local registered organizations hosting CVITP.  
Then volunteers will be given an orientation and training by the CRA/CVITP program as well as their local Coordinator.
Transportation Car required ; This is optional. Volunteers who volunteer at clinics shall need to travel tp the clinics which may be on weekends.
